Hey guys. Obviously study and work has been taking over my life (as usual).
I broke a stick blender this week! I made a huge pot of leek and potato soup and tried to blend it before it was cool enough. Long story short, I melted all the glue in the blender and had to throw it and the soup out. I was a very sad panda.
So I made this soup on Saturday instead – it’s kinda chunky because I used a potato masher to mash up the veggies. Totally tasty (it’s the Fennel, Squash and Apple soup from the Voluptuous Vegan).
Next I made the Chard Frittata from Vegan Brunch. It was pretty good, but next time I’m going to put the tofu through the food processor and cut up the silverbeet (chard) a lot finer!
Cookies have helped to ease the pain of study. I bastardised a Dreena Burton recipe by adding waaaaay too much molasses – they were even better this way!
And, in remembrance of my stick blender, green taties (pesto potatoes) with pesto made in the stick blender.
Cam has his only exam tomorrow. I have one next week and two the week after. Law school really is as boring as everyone says it is!!!!

soup, cookies, frittatas, and pesto... love it! good luck with all your exams :)
yummmm-tastic. sorry your stick blender broke. that is truly sad :(
best of luck with exams. just watch lots of "legally blond." maybe it'll cheer you up.
Good luck on the rest of your exams. Who knew stick blenders could melt so easily! I'll be a bit more careful about blending hot things from now on...
Sorry to hear about your stick blender, that's quite unfortunate. Those cookies look good enough to heal just about anything though. And the rest of your dishes are pretty delish too!
I've just discovered your blog--which I love--and linked to it from mine. I'm fairly new at this, having started The Blooming Platter in March '09, so I wanted to invite you to visit www.thebloomingplatter.blogspot.com. If you like what you see, I'd be so grateful if you would consider adding it to your blogroll, as I'm just beginning to "get out there."
Thanks so much and best wishes finishing law school,
