Update 8th October

Amy is still busy with uni work, so I thought I'd post again. As you all know, this is only the second time I've ever used a computer. Frankly, I'm amazed at this interweb thingy. Until now I thought computers were just pornography machines used by the perverted and the internet was a seedy disgusting place for criminals. At least that's what our esteemed Prime Minister John Howard told me.

I had an RDO from work, so I watched a lot of X-Files and cooked up these bad boys. The fish is mock cod fish pieces from one of the Asian Supermarkets in The Valley.
I made the sauce for the fish from black vinegar, lemon juice, chilli, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, sesame oil and coriander!

Everything looks so good! Except for the crinkle cut fries. I don't know what it is about crinkle cuts, but I've hated them since I was a kid. Give me wedges, tots, straight cuts, super thick, seasoned, or curly, but keep the crinkle cuts away from me!

But seriously, everything looks very tasty. I'm continually impressed by the combined cooking and photography skills that emerge from your kitchen!

Our oven sucks, so crinkle cuts are great as they cook faster than "homestyle" ones... But I'll admit they aren't as good as real chips that haven't been mashed and squeezed back into a mould.

Unbearably hot in Townsville... let's see... 34 predicted for the weekend. It was raining this morning, so it is MUGGY! This weather wouldn't be so bad, but for the lack of transition. It was 23-ish for a month, then it was 28 for a week, then 30+, with no gentle increase. But the fruit and veg is to die for!

What a great line-up! I'm fascinated by that vegan fish. It really does look scarily like fish steaks in this pic.
